DCCC’s Netball Club has started to meet Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Marple basketball courts and Fridays from 12:10-1:10 p.m. at the aerobics center located in the Stem Building.
Netball is a sport from England, Africa, Australia, and Jamaica that is played by both genders. The game is played on a court similar to a basketball court and the teams consist of 7 players. There is no dribbling and running with the ball, only bounce passes and throws. It is a strictly no contact game.
In the aerobics center on Fridays, students will learn the rules and techniques of the game while listening to music and doing exercises such as yoga or dancing. During meetings on the court, students will get a chance to play the game.
Founder and President of the club, Tanyaradzwa Zaba, played netball before coming to DCCC. “I like teaching people how to play because it is a cool and fun sport.”
