DCCC Culinary Arts students received the Blue Ribbon for “Best Dessert—Professional Vote” at Sweet Charity 2023, a Chester County Community Foundation (CCF) dessert competition between the restaurants, bakeries and caterers Chester County has to offer. The event was held March 28 at the Chester County Food Bank.
Tom Bodkin, Lucas Jenkins-Michl and Marian Haller were the only college students in the competition. Their entry, “Chocolate Orange Brûlée Slice,” was voted the winner by a panel of professional judges. The students worked for four weeks under the guidance of Delaware County Community College chef instructor Lynn Lindquist to prepare for the event, which supports CCF’s mission to connect people with causes that matter.
