Enneagram Type? Personality to Career Choices

The DCCC Career & Counseling Center will host a virtual workshop to introduce career ideas for Enneagram Types, and discuss the relationship between various personality types and careers. This event will be hosted on Zoom, April 13th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions. The Enneagram describes nine personality types and maps each of these types on a nine-pointed diagram which helps to illustrate how the types relate to one another.

The goal of the workshop is to introduce career paths that may interest a student and help with career development. The Enneagram assessments help students have a better understanding about themselves, which helps them better understand why a career may appeal to them. The assessment can also help students find careers they find meaningful.

The host, Ruth Morganto, Senior Adjunct Counselor at DCCC, said the assessment evaluates what motivates us and how we interact with others to get what we want. There are many online tests to learn more about your Enneagram Type.

Morganto said, “I am always curious about other Enneagram Types and I discovered that mine fit me surprisingly well.” Morganton also is certified in Myer Briggs and the Strong Interest Inventories.
