DCCC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Team

DCCC will add Outdoor Men’s Track for the 2023 Spring season. The Athletics Program now to includes four men’s and three women’s programs. Dwayne Saunders will be Head Coach for both Outdoor Track and Field teams.

 “I am excited at the opportunity to be part of the inaugural NJCAA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field program.  I look forward to assisting student – athletes with their overall development and challenging them to be the best version of themselves.” 

The former basketball coach stated, demonstrating his eagerness to compete this upcoming year while continuing to add programs that help benefit our student athletes.

Saunders will be assisted by Cara Fordenbacher, a former college Cross Country and Track and Field athlete at Eastern University. Fordenbacher competed in both long-distance events as well as the multi-event drawing on all different facets of talent and knowledge to help benefit the young program.

Fordenbacher said, “I am excited to take my passion and love for running and share it with the new athletes we are bringing into this program.”

DCCC Baseball Tryouts will be held Jan. 30 at 3:30 pm at the Flanigan Center, 323 Bishop Hollow Road, Newtown Square, PA. Interested students can stop by the ACE Office to check eligibility. DCCC Virtual Club Meet and Greet will be held Jan. 31, 11 am – 12 pm via zoom. Students interested in finding students with similar interests can explore options. 

Several clubs will be running remotely this semester and students will have an opportunity to meet with current club leaders to learn more about their groups and sign up. DCCC looking for Student Commencement Speaker

DCCC’s Commencement Ceremonies will feature a graduating student representative to speak to the graduates. Students and faculty can nominate a Delaware County Community College student for this distinction. 

The Student Affairs Committee of the College Advisory System will review all speaker nominations and make the final selections. Nominees must have a good academic standing, are eligible to walk at the May 2023 ceremony and have submitted an application to graduate. Nominations forms can be submitted through www.dccc.edu/commencement-speaker-nominations, no later than Wednesday, Feb. 15.
