DCCC students Max Orion Lagunas and Annalise DeVito won the College-Wide Reading Fiction Contest. Maya Brown and Ruby Avalos were awarded Honorable mentions.
For this contest, each participant wrote an original short story set in an imagined future impacted by climate change. As Kimberly Nicholas, the author of this year’s common reading, said, “It’s bad, but we can fix it.”
The stories of all four of these students have been posted to https://www.dccc.edu/college-wide-reading-fiction-contest.
Special thanks to Professors Stacy Cartledge and Gina Gennari, who served as judges for the contest.
